Club Referee

If you are looking for a new challenge and love football, become a Truganina Lions FC Club Referee! Refereeing is fast-paced, flexible, and rewarding—giving you the chance to build confidence, develop leadership skills, and stay connected to the action on match day. Best of all, you get paid for every game you officiate.

A Club Referee is registered with Truganina Lions Football Club to help officiate home games across various age groups:

• MiniRoos (U7–U11): Centre Referee

• Juniors (U12–U18): Centre Referee & Assistant Referee (Linesperson)

• Seniors: Assistant Referee & Centre Referee (when official match officials are not allocated by Football Victoria)

Many of our referees are current TLFC players, but anyone with a solid understanding of the game is welcome to join. The minimum age to start refereeing is the Under 12 playing age group (turning 12 in the calendar year).

• Club Support: Truganina Lions FC provides hands-on practical training, resources, and ongoing match-day mentoring. Referees also complete free Football Australia online entry-level modules.

• Official Pathways: For those who want to take their refereeing further, Football Victoria (FV) offers formal accreditation pathways—moving from a club referee up to Level 4 Junior Match Official, Level 3 Senior Match Official, and higher state-level appointments.
