⚽ MiniRoos

Our MiniRoos Kick-Off program is the perfect starting point for young players who are new to soccer or still developing their skills. The nation-wide initiative uses short, game-based sessions to introduce the sport of football to newcomers in an inclusive way.

Designed for both boys and girls aged 7 to 11, the program focuses on creating a fun, supportive, and engaging environment where children can build confidence, make new friends, and develop essential football skills.

Instead of the standard 11-a-side format, MiniRoos uses smaller-sided games (4v4, 7v7, and 9v9) on reduced-size pitches. This approach ensures more ball time, more touches, and more chances to score — leading to a faster-paced, more enjoyable experience that keeps kids active and involved in every moment of the game.

At Truganina Lions, we aim to foster a lasting passion for soccer, providing every child with the tools and encouragement they need to grow — from grassroots right through to potential progression into a professional pathway.

Training sessions are held on weeknights, depending on your child’s team, and games are played on Sunday mornings.

🌸 MiniTillies

MiniTillies is Football Australia’s national introductory football program for girls aged between 4 to 11 years.

This fun, social and engaging program provides an alternate option for girls who may not want to participate in a mixed-gender program, as well as the opportunity to choose their football experience.

At Truganina Lions FC, the MiniTillies program is delivered in a safe, engaging and inclusive environment. During the program girls build confidence while learning the basic skills of the game without the added pressure of performing in games against other teams.

Our MiniTillies programs typically run for 4 – 12 weeks for 45 – 60 minutes per session, aiming to focus on fundamental movement skills and improve through progressive drills and games.

🏆 Junior Mixed

The Juniors Program helps players transition from fun-based play to tactical and competitive football, while still emphasising teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.

Designed for both boys and girls aged 12 to 18, this stage is ideal for players who want to continue developing their skills in a team environment and participate in official league competitions. It also opens pathways to more advanced levels.

Juniors teams typically play full-sized matches (11v11) in accordance with official Football Victoria and Football Australia rules which are graded based on skill level and age group.

Training sessions are held on weeknights, depending on the player’s team, and games are usually played on Sunday mornings.

🥇 Senior Team

The Senior Metro program is designed for adult players (aged 18 and over) seeking a competitive yet social football environment within Football Victoria’s Metropolitan League competitions.

At Truganina Lions FC, our Metro squad emphasizes tactical discipline, team unity, and active athletic performance. It provides a structured pathway for developing players transitioning out of our junior ranks, as well as experienced seniors looking to play at a strong local level.

Senior Metro teams compete in full 11v11 matches in accordance with official Football Victoria (FV) rules and regulations. Training sessions are held twice weekly on weeknights, with regular season matches played on weekends.
