🏛️ A Vision Born from the Community

The story of Truganina Lions FC began with a simple question: How can we bring our community together through sport?

In early 2022, Wyndham City Council conducted a local survey to gauge interest in activating the sports facilities at Alcock Road Reserve. The community's response was overwhelming. Local residents, passionate families, and former football players gathered for consultation sessions, united by a shared vision: to establish a brand-new, family-focused football club tailored to the rapidly growing Truganina region.

From those passionate early meetings, an inaugural committee formed to bring the dream to life.

Together, our founding committee carefully crafted the foundation of our identity:

• The Name: "Truganina Lions" was chosen to symbolize strength, courage, unity, and local pride.

• The Colours: Green, Blue, and Gold were selected to represent the rich cultural diversity, energy, and landscapes of our local community.

• The Emblem: The Lion—representing a proud, supportive family unit where we protect, guide, and uplift one another as a true "pride."

Following our formal incorporation at our inaugural AGM on October 3, 2022, along with official Football Victoria affiliation, we took to the field for our very first competitive season in 2023 as Truganina Lions Soccer Club.

What started as a dream quickly blossomed into a vibrant, thriving community hub.

• July 2024 – National Recognition: Football Australia awarded us 2-Star Club Changer status in recognition of our commitment to safeguarding, gender equity, and fostering a safe, positive environment for every participant.

• December 2024 – Embracing Football Identity: To align with Football Victoria, national governing bodies, and the global language of the game, our members proudly voted to officially rename the club to Truganina Lions Football Club.

From our humble beginnings, Truganina Lions FC has experienced remarkable growth:

• 360+ Active Players: Participating across various age groups.

• 29+ Teams: Competing and learning every week.

• Dedicated Coaches & Committee: A passionate team working tirelessly behind the scenes to keep the club affordable, organized, and welcoming.

While our growth has been rapid, our core mission remains unchanged: to ensure that every young player who steps onto Alcock Road Reserve feels supported, valued, and empowered to reach their full potential.
